Create a transport logo

Transportation logos feature a distinct visual grammar. For instance, bold, horizontal layouts echo the movement of freight across distances, while badge and shield formats convey authority and accountability. Arrows, routes, and motion logos are recurrent elements, too, telling the story of journey and delivery in a single visual beat. But don’t grab the stock library.

A delivery company logo must look good (readable) on vehicle livery, shipping labels, warehouse signage, digital platforms, and even documents. You’ll want to test it on black & white, at thumbnail size, and reversed out of a dark background before finalizing the design. Otherwise, you’ll get a logo that only looks good on a presentation.

It’s important to be strategic about the colors to go into your transport delivery logo. For example, using white-and-yellow delivery logos on your dark-colored fleet vehicles should make it safer to hit the road even in low-vis conditions. Orange is a signature color, conveying speed, urgency, and high-energy. Freight operators often go for deep or navy blue, though, because it looks “more reliable.”

Some delivery company logos go green to drive the message of sustainability and commitment to eco-friendly initiatives, like if the fleet consists of electric vehicles or the company delivers carbon-neutral cargo with environmentally responsible packaging.

Your trucking logo needs a typeface that communicates the same values your business delivers, like reliability, strength, and clarity under pressure. You can use wide, heavy sans-serifs with bold letter spacing to ensure your logo is readable even if your truck is doing 60 on the motorway. Delivery service logos, especially those with unusually long brand names, can benefit from condensed fonts.  

Whatever font you pick, ensure you can place it on different surfaces without losing its shape. You could blow it up on your trailer panel and still embroider it on your employees’ uniforms without fail.
